Global Events Management does not recommend that you ship any foodstuffs, beverages, alcohol
or plants to Mining Indaba 2010. If you do require these items we strongly urge you to purchase
them locally once you arrive in South Africa. Any shipments containing these items may result in
serious delays and additional charges. Take note that an import license is required for these type
of items and the process can take 3-4 weeks to be completed.

Very Important!!!! - Due to the FIFA World Cup 2010, FIFA has instructed South African
Customs to monitor anything that can contravene the FIFA copyright / patent / law that
FIFA has over the FIFA World Cup 2010. Global Events Management strongly suggests
that any items containing the following are NOT shipped:

  • ANY advertising material, such as caps, books, t-shirts, balls, give-aways, etc that mention FIFA World Cup 2010.
  • The FIFA logo
  • Any FIFA words / soccer 2010 graphics
  • Any mention of the FIFA sponsors of their sponsors
  • Any advertising that refers to the FIFA World Cup 2010
  • Any mention of countries / flags that refer to FIFA World Cup 2010
South African Customs are stopping ALL shipments that contain items such as give-aways, t-shirts, caps, pens, etc. As a result of the additional stops and because of the limited manpower of Customs, clearance of such items are taking an additional 5- 7 days.
